Everyone is building something. A career, a family, a habit, a name. Few people stop to ask whether what they are building will actually outlast them.

Habakkuk was told to write the vision down and make it plain, so plain that someone running past could still read it. God was not interested in a vague dream living only in Habakkuk's head. He wanted something written, something built, something that could outlast the moment it was spoken.

Most people never hear God's voice as an audible sound. They hear it as the thought that keeps returning, the burden that will not leave, the picture that keeps forming in a quiet moment. The instruction is the same either way. Write it down. A vision that stays in your head is easy to abandon. A vision on paper has to be reckoned with.

Legacy is built, not left behind by accident

A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children. That is not a promise that wealth appears automatically for people who love God. It is a description of what faithful, patient building looks like across a lifetime. Legacy is not what is left over. It is what was built on purpose, one faithful season at a time.

Jesus said the wise man built his house on the rock, and when the storm came, it stood. The foolish man built on sand, and it fell, and great was the fall of it. The difference was never the size of the house. It was what it was built on. Every answer above matters, but none of them hold if the foundation underneath all of it is not Christ.
