You Were Not Made to Survive Alone

Stop Running. Start Building.

Four truths for single parents, inflation survivors, debt avoiders, and couples who stopped talking about money.

This week we are going deeper. And we need you to participate.

Before we get into this week's teaching, we want to ask you something directly.

Are you surviving or are you building?

Those are two very different postures. Surviving is reactive. Building is intentional. And the gap between them is not income. It is not luck. It is not even faith. It is a decision to stop running from the hard numbers and start facing them with a plan.

This week, we brought everything we had. Two real testimonies from Diana. A word about debt that nobody wants to hear but everybody needs. And a conversation about marriage and money that most couples are avoiding. Read every section. Do the challenges. And share this with someone who is still surviving.

Part 1

To the Single Parent

Both of us know what that table looks like.

Diana sat at hers as a single mom with bills and not enough money to cover even one of them. Chad sat at his as a single dad trying to figure out how to hold everything together without a second income, without a plan, and without anyone telling him it was going to be okay.

We are not speaking to you from a distance. We are speaking from the other side of that table.

What Diana experienced was not financial planning. It was provision. God opened doors she did not knock on. Money came from places she did not expect. He rerouted what felt like an ending into something she could not have engineered on her own.

But here is what she also learned. Provision meets preparation. God did not just drop resources on her and call it done. He gave her wisdom. He gave her a plan. And she had to be brave enough to follow it even when it went against everything she thought she knew about money.

"Look at the birds of the air. They do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?"

Matthew 6:26

"Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not be afraid. You are worth more than many sparrows."

Luke 12:7

He knows the exact number of hairs on your head. He knows the exact amount of every bill on that table. He is not surprised by your situation. He is positioned for your provision. And He is asking you to trust Him enough to take the next step, even when the numbers do not add up yet.

What I thought was an ending was God rerouting me.

Your Challenge

Write down one bill you have been avoiding. Just one. Not the amount. Just the name. Put it on paper. That is your starting point.

Then come share it in our free Facebook community. You do not have to face it alone.

Part 2

The Courage to Ask

Everything was increasing except Diana's income.

Water bill. Parking. Childcare. Education. Rent. Every single category was climbing. And her paycheck stayed exactly the same. That gap between rising costs and a frozen income is one of the most demoralizing feelings a person can experience. It makes you feel like you are falling behind, no matter how hard you work.

Then the Holy Spirit reminded her of James 4:2. And it changed everything.

"You do not have because you do not ask."

James 4:2

She asked for a raise. And she received it. Not because she was lucky. Because she finally stopped assuming the answer was no before she ever opened her mouth.

Most people who are underpaid have never once researched what their job actually pays in their area. They accept what they were given and assume it is fair. It may not be. And you will never know until you look.

Do This Right Now

Go to Glassdoor or Indeed. Search for your exact job title. Enter your zip code or city. Look at the salary range that comes up.

Are you at the bottom of that range? The middle? Or are you being paid below market entirely?

That number is the beginning of your conversation. You cannot ask well until you know what to ask for.

Part 3

It Is Time to Confront Your Debt

Most people do not have a debt problem. They have an avoidance problem.

Debt is loud. It sends letters. It shows up on your credit report. It sits in the back of your mind every time you swipe your card. But most people have decided that if they do not look at it directly, they can pretend it is not as bad as they think. That strategy never works. Avoidance does not make debt smaller. It makes it louder.

Debt came in swiftly. But it does not have to stay. It is time to confront it and not run. Not hide from it. Cut through it with a plan and refuse to let it continue to strangle the life God designed for you.

It is time to confront and not run. Debt came in swiftly but it does not get to stay.

Your Challenge

Write down your top 3 debts right now. Just the names. Not the amounts. Not the interest rates. Just name them.

Naming something is the first act of confronting it. You cannot build a plan around something you refuse to look at. Share your list in our free Facebook community and let us help you build the next step.

A Prayer for You This Week

Father, we lift up every single person, every parent reading these words tonight. The one who is tired. The one who is behind. The one who does not know how the next bill gets paid. You see them. You counted every hair on their head. You know every need. Meet them in that kitchen. Open doors they have not knocked on yet. Give them the courage to ask for what they need at work, in prayer, and in community. For every couple pulling in opposite directions tonight, bring them back to the same table with the same vision. Break the silence about money in their home and replace it with a plan they both believe in. And for every person avoiding debt in the dark, give them the courage to name it, face it, and begin to dismantle it one payment at a time. You did not design them for survival. You designed them for abundance. Let this week be the beginning of the proof. In Jesus name. Amen.

This Is Your Week to Move.

You read all four sections. You did not skip. That means something is stirring in you. Do not let it pass. Do not close this tab and go back to surviving.

Pick one challenge from this blog and do it before Friday. Just one. Write the bill. Look up your salary. Name the debt. Have the 15-minute conversation. One step is all it takes to go from surviving to building.

You were not made to survive alone. And you do not have to.
